The first round of fan votes for the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game are in. A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark are leading the voting, the league announced Friday.
A two-time MVP, five-time All-Star and two-time WNBA champion, Wilson is No. 1 on the list with 217,773 votes. She is currently leading the league in scoring (27.9 points per game) and rebounding (11.3 per game).
Clark, the 2024 No. 1 overall pick, isn’t far behind with 216,427 votes. She ranks 16th in the WNBA in scoring (16.3 points per game) and third in assists (6.2 per game).
After Wilson and Clark, the other players in the top 10 are:
- Indiana’s Aliyah Boston with 171,864 votes
- Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty with 151,984 votes
- Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings with 130,838 votes
- New York’s Sabrina Ionescu with 118,949 votes
- Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky with 118,490 votes
- Las Vegas’ Kelsey Plum with 117,217 votes
- Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx with 103,550 votes
- Dearica Hamby of the Los Angeles Sparks with 97,094 votes
To determine the All-Star selections, 50% of the vote comes from fans, 25% comes from current WNBA players, and 25% comes from sportswriters and broadcasters.
Once voting is finished, the 10 players with the most votes will automatically get to participate in the All-Star Game. If they are members of Team USA’s 5-on-5 roster for the upcoming Olympics, they will play for the national team against Team WNBA. If they are not, they will get spots on Team WNBA.
To fill the remaining spots on Team WNBA, the league’s 12 head coaches will vote from among the 36 players who received the next-most votes. (However, coaches cannot vote for their own players.) The final rosters will be announced on July 2.
The All-Star Game will take place on July 20. It has already sold out and will be held at Footprint Center, the home of three-time WNBA champion Phoenix Mercury. Fans can watch the game on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT.
